Stacy’s dream became a reality when she founded her own gymnastics gym in July 2002. On March 18, 2003, she officially opened the doors to Future Flipz, Inc. in Clearwater.
“It is a dream come true.”
As the owner and director, Stacy oversees all programs and remains hands-on in the day-to-day operations. She manages office duties, teaches private lessons, and regularly participates in birthday parties, sleepovers, and Parents’ Night Out events.

Stacy began her gymnastics journey at just eight years old, training at Apollo School of Gymnastics. Over the course of her eight-year competitive career, she rose to the top as a nationally ranked Class I/Level 10 gymnast and placed at the 1990 Junior Olympic Games. Her athletic achievements didn’t stop there—Stacy was also named an NCA All-American Cheerleader in 1991–1992 and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. She competed nationally with the Tampa LaFleur’s All-Star Cheerleading Squad in 1991 as well.
A proud graduate of Dunedin High School, Class of 1992, Stacy went on to attend St. Petersburg College for two and a half years, where she studied business courses while launching her coaching career in gymnastics.
Stacy began coaching in 1992 with her former coach, Mr. Stowe, in Tampa before returning to her home gym, Apollo. There, she wore many hats—teaching Competitive Team Levels 5 & 6, managing the Progressive Team, coaching Preschool and Recreational Classes, and leading Cheerleading programs.

In 2002, she transitioned her talents into building the programs at Future Flipz, ultimately creating a self-sustaining business model that continues to thrive today. She is a professional member of USA Gymnastics and serves as a USA Gymnastics Skill Evaluator. Her certifications include:

SAFESPORT: Preventing Misconduct
U101: Safety & Risk Management
U100: Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction
USA Gymnastics University: Instructor

Expanding her athletic expertise beyond gymnastics, Stacy became certified through USA Diving and holds credentials in:

Coaching Diving
Concussion in Sports
Heat Illness Prevention
Sudden Cardiac Arrest

She is also a Level 2 Volunteer and currently serves as the Head Coach for the Dunedin High School Diving Team. Her coaching achievements include:

2020: 2 District Champions (Brooklyn & Dean), 2 State Qualifiers (Brooklyn & Dean), 1 State Finalist (Brooklyn – 18th)
2021: 2 District & Regional Champions (Brooklyn & Dean), 3 State Qualifiers (Brooklyn, Dean, Bodie), 2 State Finalists (Brooklyn – 10th, Dean – 15th)
2022: 2 District Champions (Brooklyn & Bodie), 1 Regional Champion (Bodie), 2 State Qualifiers (Brooklyn & Bodie)

Stacy is deeply proud and grateful for the years of experience and growth she has gained in coaching and entrepreneurship. She embraces new challenges with open arms and continues to lead Future Flipz with energy, enthusiasm, and heart.

Stacy is married to Bret Thompson, and together they have three children: Savanah (with husband Chris), Jacob, and Brooklyn—all of whom are part of the Future Flipz team.
